Physical Education

We believe in developing healthy, active children who have a love of movement.

At Key Stage 1 this includes a focus on fundamental movement skills - agility, balance and co-ordination, through a range of games and sports-based activities. At Key Stage 2 we teach a variety of traditional and new sports, allowing children to explore and perform a wide range of skills with increasing confidence and competency. We also introduce knowledge of the effects of exercise on the body to help children understand the benefits of exercise and sport. Regardless of age, we believe in providing challenge and support for all so that children are successful in lessons and enjoy exercise and movement.

Participation

All pupils are expected to participate in PE lessons. Pupils who are not able to take part due to sickness or injury will require a note from their parents/guardian. If this involves a long-term injury or ailment, then a doctor’s note or medical evidence will be required.
