Primary Pupil Charter

ACADEMY PLEDGE

Swindon Academy will deliver an education with character. We want our young people to look back on a joyful school experience which has both inspired and challenged them and given them wide opportunities, preparing them for the ups and downs of life. We will develop character, compassion and service.

PUPIL PLEDGE

I am expected to contribute to my school and to society; to challenge myself and to try things which I think I cannot do; to persist in the face of difficulty; to become resilient in overcoming obstacles; to manage myself; to work independently on things which challenge me; to work with others and in teams; to be courageous and caring; to lead;

IN ADDITION TO MY LESSONS, I WILL

  1. Participate in a sporting activity for at least half a term
  2. Participate in a performance activity for at least half a term
  3. Commit to at least three other Swindon+ activities for at least half a term
  4. Help others participating in a social action campaign or by volunteering my time
  5. Attend two cultural, artisitic or sporting events, with at least one outside my local area
  6. Represent my school/college/year group by taking part in a cultural, artisitc, charitable or sporting event
  7. Listen to an inspirational speaker
  8. Share my views about school via the pupil leadership structure
  9. Go on a trip outside Swindon linked to my learning
  10. Attend a residential trip
  11. Have my talents celebrated and recognised
