Arrangements For The Start And End Of The Day
Please be aware we do not allow any parent or carer to park on the school site. Please do not drive onto the school site without pre-arranged permission. This is to keep our pupils safe and avoid unnecessary congestion. If you have a blue badge and would like access to the site, please put your request in writing to the Head Teacher and provide us a copy of your blue badge. We only have a limited number of Disabled spaces.
It is now illegal for you to park outside the school gates, and we expect all parents to respect this. We ask all parents to keep a 5-minute walking zone around the school and strongly encourage you to walk to school instead of drive whenever possible. This has a positive impact on the safety of all pupils walking or cycling to school, it improves the health and fitness of you and your child while looking after the environment and reducing our carbon footprint.
Arriving at School
School gates are opened at 8.10am each morning, when you can walk your child to their class line or class door. Staff are on the playground each morning from 8.10am to support you. Teachers line pupils up at 8.22am and take them in at 8.23am. Please support your child join the line quickly in the mornings. The gates are locked at 8.30am sharp. If the gate is locked when you arrive, please walk your child round to the main reception and complete the late sheet. Staff have been instructed to shut and lock gates at 8.30am, please be respectful of this.
End of The Day
School gates will be opened at 3.25pm. At 3.30pm teachers will dismiss their pupils. NB: on Friday we finish at 1pm. In Reception and Key Stage One, pupils will be dismissed from their classroom. In Lower Key Stage Two, staff will dismiss pupils from the bottom of their stairwell outside Primary Reception. In Upper Key Stage, pupils will be dismissed from the playground. Staff will only dismiss pupils to adults who have permission to collect them. Please be patient at this time, our staff take safeguarding very seriously and would rather take a few moments to be safe and sure than rush through dismissal.
If you would like someone other than you to collect your child from school, this must be agreed in advance. An agreed list of people allowed to collect your child will be kept on record. No one else will be allowed to take your child. Please be respectful of this rule and treat staff kindly if they refuse to let your child go with someone not on the agreed list. If you are late to collect your child from school, please come to the main reception where they will be looked after until you arrive.
We do not allow pupils in Reception to Year Four to walk home alone. If you have a child in Year Five or Year Six, they are permitted to walk home alone, with your consent. We do need your consent in writing. Therefore, if you would like your child to walk home unattended, please come to Primary Reception and ask for a Walk Home Permission Slip.
